In 1764, James Hargreaves built a simple wooden frame that could spin multiple threads at once. The “Spinning Jenny” seemed unremarkable to most, yet within decades it had transformed Britain’s textile industry, fuelled the Industrial Revolution, and shifted the balance of economic power across the globe.
So that is how true technological revolutions begin - quietly, almost invisibly.
